translucency

Translucency looks into a variety of 21st century things. It looks at the ways in which people as individuals look at portraits of other people, and also how the people within the images choose to portray themselves. This project focuses on the unknown and the ways in which an image can have different meanings dependent on what the viewer chooses to see; questioning whether the people in the images are hiding aspects of themselves or revealing something. I have added self-portraits in this series as I am a self-proclaimed addict to my phone, and in some images the mirrors symbolise phones and our desire to constantly be on them and trying to prove to everyone that we live a fascinating life.
