bloom

'bloom' is a project that is heavily influenced by the 21st century and peoples' obsession to be seen online in a positive light. Combining portraiture with plants is a comment on the authenticity of social media and posts that are created to highlight lives of individuals. This contrast of the natural world combined with the portrait is my take on the modern world and how I view it. In these portraits part of the subject's face is obstructed by the flower, highlighting the fact that social media is both good and bad; how individuals most often show only positive aspects of their lives.
